Excellent service today from Tom! I tried to switch over my account on the phone for the past 2 hours - no luck! I pop into the branch 10 minutes before closing and Tom was on hand to help. Did it all within 15 minutes and didn't mind staying late. Thank you!

Excellent service today! Just moved over from HSBC and the staff who helped me with an internet card reader were fantastic. The branch itself has just been redone and looks great! Thank you!

Local Chambers of Commerce for EC1R 1UL. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
Islington Town Hall

Upper St, London N1 2UD, UK – 020 7527 2000

Weddings here are lovely! Our registrar was great, the room was beautiful and it's super good value! The only problem is one security guard who was really rude to me and my guests, and the 'interview' beforehand where they write out your certificate takes so long and leaves your guests sitting waiting for ages, even when you are there way in advance! There should definitely be a different process for this. Why my groom couldn't do his before our guests were seated. Super awkward, and i was left in a small waiting room for ages and then upstairs doing the interview while my guests shuffled awkwardly. Lovely ceremony, lovely day, gorgeous room, but this makes no sense. And get rid of that horrible guard.

Love Islington Town Hall! Especially the Council Chamber : a wedding in the round is the best! The registrars are really lovely too and relaxed and allow photographers free rein to capture the joy!

Camden Town Hall

Judd St, London WC1H 9JE, UK – 020 7974 4444

Efficient, organised and friendly. The staff were cheerful and quickly got my certificate sorted. Security answered my questions politely and were helpful.

The staff are lovely here. You know they're busy but they're always courteous and help you out as much as they can. I had a number of questions that I asked both online and in person and was always happy with the responses I got. The only thing that could use some improving is their website - some things aren't too easy to sort online and I had to email them, but got a call back and when dealing with the same issue in person they got everything sorted for me right there and then.

Dental Surgeries

Ace Dental

158 Kentish Town Rd, London NW5 2AG, UK – 020 7485 3711

I was running late for my appointment and wanted to call them up. The receptionist put me on hold for 10 min. I eventually got there while still on hold on the phone only to find both receptionists looking into their PC waiting for the day go by. I hope this customer service issue can be addressed by their management. On the other hand they did have appointments on offer and last time doctor was nice. 29/04/18 Update: I had a really positive experience with the clinic since and appreciate them taking feedback on board. As mentioned before the doctor I've seen was very professional and kind.

Got a whitening treatment by Callum and I have to say the way he handled my teeth was so sensitive. He left me feeling so fresh, minty and white, I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to freshen up ;). Also the receptionist was on point. May have made the entire trip, Kudos!

Harley Street Dental Clinic

139 Harley St, Marylebone, London W1G 6BG, UK – 020 7486 1059

I had my new smile done by Samar Khamis. She is so lovely and very good at what she is doing. Felt that I was in good hands from the start. I’m very pleased with my new smile. Will definitely go back again.

My dentist Samar Khamis at Harley street dental clinic is AMAZING, she's a real expert in her field. She is also very lovely and totally puts you at ease. She has given me the most lovely smile and has also had utmost patience with me! The day before Christmas Eve I chipped half my front tooth and had a real panic, but she saw me immediately during her lunch break to fix it before Christmas. She gives everything to her work to get the best results and I honestly couldn't recommend her more.

The Dental Centre

139 Euston Rd, Kings Cross, London NW1 2AA, UK – 020 7380 0034

Always great service. All people working are on point. Had 3 of my wisdom teeth removed there. Everyone is lovely and patient. No problems after visiting, can always come back if anything urgent happens. Love this dental centre.

Daniel Au is a really excellent dentist whom I would be happy to recommend to anyone. He is thorough, thoughtful and explains all options proposed. He is also very skilful when making fillings or fitting crowns, telling the patient what to expect and what is happening during treatment itself.

London Doctors Clinic

Room 101, 117 Waterloo Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 8UL, UK – 020 8712 9378

Very comfortable reception and office. Both times I've been here (once on a Saturday) the doctor actually listened, gave clear advice, and helped me with prescriptions and referrals, and to navigate how to get the further help I needed. They also stock certain basic prescriptions right there - eliminating the need for another stop at a pharmacy, which is helpful especially off-hours. Sometimes, it's worth it to invest a little for excellent service.

Extremely convenient, made an appointment within the hour and was seen with minimal wait. Great alternative when you need urgent attention but cant get into the GP.

London Doctors Clinic

101D, 18 Soho Square, Soho, London W1D 3QL, UK – 020 8712 9378

It's easy to make an appointment online and be seen within a few days. The doctors are professional and helpful. Take the lift to go straight to the first floor rather than waiting at the reception downstairs. However, while appointments with the doctors are reasonably priced, any other treatment is expensive. A very simple urea test cost me £200. The doctor recommended I try a cream that he gave me for £15 while saying he wasn't sure if it was easy to find at any pharmacy (I checked later and it was easy to find for £5).

Easy to find. Easy to make online appointments. Very reasonable prices compared to most. The consultancy fee is not mentioned - so the £155 is actually £210. The men's toilets- for the urine sample - are downstairs through public areas. Results are quick, staff are friendly.

London Doctors Clinic

3.7, 344-354 Grays Inn Road, London WC1X 8BP, UK – 020 8712 9378

Amazing service. Highly skilled professional, caring and empathic, quick appointment, zero wait, affordable rate. Saw Dr. Mookhtadir Ansar at King’s Cross location and am thoroughly impressed. Have never written review for a doctor before but feel compelled after visit with him. Highly recommend him.

It's really easy to book appointments online. All doctors I've seen here have been very professional and helpful. For what you pay it's a great service.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

A little gem indeed: the architecture, the history, the windows (on a sunny day the choir windows are mesmerising! Look out for the angels quite unusual) And the service too is top quality either weekdays or Sunday.

The place is very quite and warm. It has a 1:00pm mass during the weekdays which is good for working faithful Catholics. The entrance is not that noticeable as it is facing parallel with the road, new to the place won’t find it easily but just looked to the left and you will find the small door which lead to narrow hallway. Very solemn place of worship.

Islington Household Reuse and Recycling Centre

i made a telephone enquiry and left a voice message . A man returned the call the same evening apologising for calling so late. he was so helpful and reassuring on the telephone. excellent telephone manners and great customer service . i went the following sunday to drop of 6 bags of ceramic tiles. Again a gentleman in the premises was very helpful .

Always simple to use and nice helpful staff. Annoying though that too many people get away with putting recyclable goods in the general waste.

Regis Road Recycling Centre

Regis Rd, London NW5 3EW, UK – 020 3620 4026

Brilliant service. They take pretty much everything. The workers there are very helpful.

Came here with a car full of stuff when clearing out our cellar. They seem to be able to take most types of things you might reasonably be able to recycle, and the staff were helpful and not at all officious as you could imagine they might be in a place like this. Overall no complaints from me.

Community Recycling Network

The Grayston Centre, 28 Charles Square, Hoxton, London N1 6HT, UK – 020 7324 4708

This looks good I should pop down and have a chat with them about recycling.

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Picture Fitzrovia

We had dinner here on a very hot Saturday nights night & chose the tasting menu. The food was beautifully presented and delicious, especially the pressed pork course. Good compact wine list and excellent cocktails. Wait staff are friendly and attentive. Ambience is great - relaxed, plenty of room between tables and buzzy but not noisy. £70/head including drinks and service.

Reasonably priced good quality food, with friendly and attentive staff. We had their 5th birthday 5 course menu with a cocktail. All the food was good, highlights being the gazpacho starter, beef fillet main and dark chocolate mousse dessert. It was good value overall, and would definitely recommend for a good quality meal with good service at a reasonable price.

The Barbary

16 Neal's Yard, London WC2H 9DP, UK

Amazing food, really friendly staff. It was my first time visiting the restaurant and I was dining solo. The waiter kindly explained the menu to me which is comprised of small plates of which 3-4 is enough per person. The flavour combinations were unexpected and scrumptious. I got the naan bread which was baked on the spot and served with a side of your choice (I got hummus, which was delicious as well). I got roasted cauliflower which was slightly spicy but perfectly balanced with the addition of a yogurt sauce. My main dish was the juiciest chicken I have ever eaten with a rub of spices, served alongside caramelized onions charred cherry tomatoes and more yogurt sauce. Real comfort food. I did not encounter a problem with seating because I went at the restaurant about the time it opened and there was no line. However by the time I was finished there were about 3-4 groups waiting to be seated. So better go there early or expect to wait for a while. Keep up the fantastic job!

Where to even start with this place! Came here as a surprise birthday lunch and it was wonderful from start to finish. Food is great (especially the special octopus salad that was on that day), staff are attentive and helpful but without being cloying and I love the intimate set up. The only annoying part was that reservations are only taken at 12 at the weekend therefore we had to get there rather early for a birthday lunch, but that was a happy sacrifice! I completely understand why this place is considered one of the best restaurants in London.

Barrafina

26-27 Dean St, Soho, London W1D 3LL, UK – 020 7440 1456

Delightful experience. Due to the reputation of this place, you are likely to have a queue any time of the week. It's worth the wait! The chef kept checking to make sure everything was ok and no exaggeration to say every dish was a pleasure. Would recommend! The Octopus dish is the flagship and a must try!!

Amazing experience at barrafina. Arrived at 6:30pm the place was chock a block full, got seated at 7:30pm. However, you can order food and drinks while you wait in line - inside! Service was super friendly even though they were so busy. The food is really worth the money you spend here. Would recommend to anyone! Specifically - the classic tortilla, ham croquettes, stuff zucchini flower and the octopus. We also had the special butterflied mackerel which was delicious.

my son went here for 8 months I recommend Kayley she really helped me settle my son in and looked after him well. They were very flexible and my son loved it. A very good nursery (and I looked at many and didn't like whether private or state) I didn't want him to leave a very good independent nursery.

Hanover Primary School

Noel Rd, Islington, London N1 8BD, UK – 020 7689 8949

A friendly and supportive school with a wonderfully welcoming community. The focus on reading at the school is truly outstanding with both of our children now avid, curious and rampant readers. The new head has a clear agenda of what he would like to improve one school and their seems to be an excellent learning culture throughout the teaching staff.

My daughter is nearing the end of her time at Hanover and it has been the happiest seven years. She has thoroughly embraced all aspects of school life and enjoyed every moment of her time there, making good friends and strong bonds with staff. Just watch the children banging on the doors to get in in the morning! Happy school.

Public & Preparatory Schools

Charterhouse Square School & Nursery

40 Charterhouse Square, London EC1M 6EA, UK – 020 7600 3805

Charterhouse Square School is founded by original headmistress Jamie Mason with school fees set at £425 per term! Over the course of the next two decades we go on to gain a reputation for all-round academic performance. In March the school becomes part of Cognita – a worldwide group of schools founded by Sir Chris Woodhead, former head of Ofsted. In December Caroline Lloyd takes over as headmistress fifteen years after first joining the school. When space becomes available in an adjacent building, the school expands to occupy a total of seven floors in our much-coveted Barbican location. This allows the school to add a dedicated Early Years area, a school library and an art room. n further work to improve the school site, the entire basement and ground floor of number 40 is completely remodelled. The addition of bi-folding glass doors to link our Green Room to its outdoor sand and water area is a particular hit with the children. Charterhouse Square School celebrates its 30-year anniversary with a surprise party for the children and a ball for parents, teachers and friends of the school. The school is also featured in The Good Schools Guide for the first time.

Cavendish School

31 Inverness St, Camden Town, London NW1 7HB, UK – 020 7485 1958

A unique and exceptional school with a dedicated and experienced staff and wonderful, supportive, friendly families. The Cavendish is non selective and yet secures outstanding results for its girls within a framework of incredible pastoral care and without the pressure of 'hot house' schools. It places huge emphasis on kindness, tolerance and courtesy. Its families are dedicated to the school and are actively involved. Unusually, it has specialist teachers for science, music, languages, PE and art. Delicious, home made meals are cooked every day and an exciting array of extra curricular activities are available. The school itself is beautifully maintained and provides a happy, high quality learning environment. My best advice would be to come and see the school in action and judge for yourself. A little gem.

We have two daughters at the Cavendish, one in year 3 and one in year 6 (who has just left). Our experience of the school has been incredibly positive; both children always look forward to going to school and have never once expressed any reluctance during the last 8 years to leave the house in the morning. We chose the school because it was non selective and claimed to offer a strong a pastoral ethos with good academic results. Our experience is that it has delivered both in spades! What particularly impresses me about the school is the quality of the teaching and how they continually adapt it to the needs of the individual child. My two daughters are very different in how they learn and what their natural strengths are; I cannot praise the school enough for how they have personalised their approach to them and helped both of them to achieve their academic potential. We also wanted a school that had a strong science and maths curriculum and I have never failed to be impressed by the quality and sophistication of the maths and science they are doing. The homework policy feels well balanced and pitched just right for their age. My elder daughter, on leaving the school, has developed a good work ethic when it comes to homework which I feel has set her up perfectly for secondary school. The school is very friendly; we have built good relationships with parents not just from our daughters’ classes but from across other years groups as well. Unlike many other schools the meals are cooked and prepared in the school kitchen and are healthy, varied, and nutritious. Under the leadership of the previous head the school achieved and outstanding inspectors’ reports (excellent in all areas) which particularly commended the quality of the teaching and which we felt was well deserved. Under the new head the school has not rested on its laurels and has been striving to improve its academic performance still further; certainly the current year 6 have achieved an impressive range of offers from the top north London secondary schools. This is a lovely school, I could not think of a better place to send my daughters.
