Dental Surgeries - both Private and NHS

A G Dentistry

333 Kentish Town Rd, London NW5 2TJ, UK – 020 7267 7653

Very helpful. The reception staff were very friendly, supportive and understanding about my problem and they fit me in on the same day as I was in agony. The dentist was very professional and will follow his advice in future. Highly recommended this practice.

Great service. Very grateful for everything! I recommend the clinic to everyone I know

Liberty Dentists

1, 65 Redchurch St, London E2 7DJ, UK – 020 3137 9965

An excellent dentist the quality of work is very high. Other private dentists in the locality have not given as good a service.

Very, very professional. And ethical. They will do exactly what you need, no more no less. It has probably been one of the best experiences I had at a dentist. I went there with a gum problem and the whole journey was very caring towards their patients. No pain at all, friendly, patient and always thinking the way I was feeling while I was getting my treatment done. I would recommend this dentist to anyone.

London Smiling

Dental Surgery, 62A Goodge St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 4NE, UK – 0844 824 8166

I just want to say a MASSIVE thank you to Dr Uchenna Okoye and her team at London Smiling Goodge Street. I have had a lifelong fear of dentists, but from my initial consultation the warmth and personal care I received was overwhelming. I know l am gushing but l haven't had a better experience with any dentist in my 61 years of life. The whole process was just incredible. I cannot recommend Uchennas amazing skill, attention to detail, and ability to transform her clients smile, highly enough. I am so pleased with the results. So I just want to say how truly grateful I am for my perfect teeth, and the confidence they have given me. If l could award more than 5 stars l would. Janette 2018

Great service, receiptionist and dentist were both really friendly.

Doctors serving the Islington area

Dr G Marlowe - De Beauvoir Surgery

30 Hertford Rd, London N1 5QT, UK – 020 7923 3684

I decided to write a review as my circumstances have changed and I found that the staff here was very understandable. I've been with this surgery since the old location. Someone recommended to me based on their experience and I must say that I don't regret it at all. The staff is incredible good, from the receptionists who are atentive and very polite to the professionalism and great empathy the doctors have shown. I also mention the nurse whom I saw her a few times and she left me a very good impression each time( I am scared of needles but she was very gentle and lovely). I wish all surgeries will be great as this one. Well done to the team!

I have been a patient of this surgery for many years, since the old location. Many of the doctors have been with this surgery many years too, and have great knowledge, ability and customer service. The new doctors are also very impressive. Can be difficult to get an appointment within a short number or days, but have nearly always been seen on the day when it has been an emergency. In the climate we are in I regard this still very good.

London Doctors Clinic

101D, 18 Soho Square, Soho, London W1D 3QL, UK – 020 8712 9378

It's easy to make an appointment online and be seen within a few days. The doctors are professional and helpful. Take the lift to go straight to the first floor rather than waiting at the reception downstairs. However, while appointments with the doctors are reasonably priced, any other treatment is expensive. A very simple urea test cost me £200. The doctor recommended I try a cream that he gave me for £15 while saying he wasn't sure if it was easy to find at any pharmacy (I checked later and it was easy to find for £5).

Easy to find. Easy to make online appointments. Very reasonable prices compared to most. The consultancy fee is not mentioned - so the £155 is actually £210. The men's toilets- for the urine sample - are downstairs through public areas. Results are quick, staff are friendly.

London Doctors Clinic

3.7, 344-354 Grays Inn Road, London WC1X 8BP, UK – 020 8712 9378

Amazing service. Highly skilled professional, caring and empathic, quick appointment, zero wait, affordable rate. Saw Dr. Mookhtadir Ansar at King’s Cross location and am thoroughly impressed. Have never written review for a doctor before but feel compelled after visit with him. Highly recommend him.

It's really easy to book appointments online. All doctors I've seen here have been very professional and helpful. For what you pay it's a great service.

University College London Hospital

235 Euston Rd, Fitzrovia, London NW1 2BU, UK – 020 3456 7890

I have a rare health condition that has seriously impacted my life and have seen numerous specialist at different hospitals in the UK, some are very well known. I had almost completely given up any hope of finding help for my condition, however I believe that I have finally gotten to see a specialist here that my possibly be able to help me. The hospital is large and complex in its layout, and very busy, however the staff that I dealt with were all very friendly and helpful and able to guide me to the places within the hospital that I needed to get to, such as blood tests, pharmacy and consulting rooms. Hopefully things will work out positively for my condition now that after many years I believe that I may have finally found the right specialist/consultant.

Good hospital with good top class doctors. If you ever want to go to this hospital and are looking for parking? Parking is available on Melton Street There are two train stations very close to this hospital too.

London Doctors Clinic - Private GP

London Doctors Clinic - Private GP

4.1, Alpha House, 100 Borough High St, London SE1 1LB, UK – 020 8712 9378

I visited London Bridge not long ago, as I was feeling extremely unwell in work. My GP had no same day appointments and suggested to call back the following morning, but I just could not leave it that long. I googled doctors local to me and this was the nearest to work. I saw the doctor within the 15 minute time slot, got my medication and felt much better by the end of the week. Amazing, convenient service, and great staff including the helpful receptionist who offered me water. Definitely a recommendation for friends/family within the busy City life. S. Jane

After 2 months of trying to get tests and good sense out of the NHS, and a lot of stress in the process, everything I needed was achieved in a single day by a lovely London Doctor. Such efficiency and such sound and caring advice was the most pleasant surprise to me. I wholeheartedly recommend them and will definitely use them again if I need to.

Travel Clinics

London Travel Clinic

18 Soho Square, Soho, London W1D 3QL, UK – 020 3432 1381

Booked it in the evening and went the day after at lunch time, so super convenient for last minute jabs! In the Oxford street branche there is an amazing nurse, Agnese, which assisted me and helped me to relax easily so for the first time I didn’t feel like I was going to faint. Easy to find location, very clean and nice. It’s worth the money.

Definitely pricey, but very flexible and open late. Friendly staff, that clearly explain the process for each vaccination and answer all your questions. Conveniently located in the centre of London and less than a 5 minute walk from Tottenham Court Road underground station

London Travel Clinic - London Bridge

100 Borough High St, London SE1 1SZ, UK – 020 3432 1381

Very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Refreshingly honest advice on the risk factors for travel with no attempts to upsell. On the expensive side, but I booked yesterday and was in and out in 15 minutes today, so a premium service. Would recommend.

Great service. Not cheap, but worth it for the convenience and speed

Nomad Travel Clinic & Travel Store

11 S Molton St, Mayfair, London W1K 5QP, UK – 01341 555061

I visited the Nomad Travel clinic today for Antimalarial medication. The clinic/store could do with a little smartening up but apart from that it was a positive experience all around. I was advised on the phone of the cost of the medication and the consultation fee with the nurse (£15) but I wasn't told about the medicine charge (£10), hence the 4 star review. The clinic also has a small store with useful travel essentials.

Really could not have been any better - recommend 100%. Super knowledgeable and friendly nurse. Even advised me against an unnecessary vaccination as I was already covered.

Barchester Healthcare Ltd

3rd Floor, The Aspect, 12 Finsbury Square, London EC2A 1AS, UK – 020 7382 2860

As a regular visitor to Thackeray House I have noticed the rise in stress levels with the Carers. Often only 1 carer is left on the floor to serve meals and answer calls - something has got to give. We want more Carers throughout the day. We understand the reduction of staff is due to a Head Office directive - it is unsafe for our relatives in this sort of environment. It won't be just the staff leaving but your fee paying residents.. it's awful to witness the lack of consideration given to the staff. Visitors should be interviewed to tell you the reality of your directives. Please deal with the staffing issues THEY cannot cope with work levels especially between 11am and 3pm.

great work experience. would recommend 8/8

Ash Court Nursing Home

Ascham St, Camden Town, London NW5 2PD, UK – 0844 472 5181

The lovely care team at Ash Court really helped to settle Mum in when she became too ill to remain in her own home. They are friendly and cheerful and Mum says she feels very much at home there. Her room is pleasant and clean as is the rest of the building. It has a very homely feel when you enter. Steven, the Manager, is always helpful and accommodating and responds quickly when contacted.

Ash Court is well managed home. The staff are kind and caring and really look after the residents. My aunt was very happy there for a good number of years. I would highly recommend this home.

After the very 1st session I experienced 95% pain relief - I was blown away! Within a few sessions I had my full range of motion back and cannot recommend Matthew highly enough!

I would give 7 stars if I could! I have been having acupuncture treatment regularly with Dr. Wang for over a year for several issues. Always with great results. I would highly recommend, incredibly skilled, great team, very professional. Thanks Dr. Wang!

I have been going to Dr Wang accupunture for three years and it has been of great help and wellness in the short and long term. I discovered his practice through a friend who had also been suffering from some stress which was impacting her fertility. Dr Wang explained the treatment and the philosophy of its medicine very comprehensively. Each acupunture session not only had a great immediate impact on my body and welbeing but also, in the longer run, helped me conceive my wonderful 4 month baby boy. I am very grateful to their knowledge and treatment.

Gemma Clare Holistic Health & Skincare Expert / Facialist / Industry Consultant

Gemma is fantastic, I first came across Gemma when I booked my partner for a massage & after he said it was so good so I booked myself in. I have body aches & lots of tight muscles, Gemma was able to relive a lot of my pain, both my partner and I started to see Gemma every month as we were addicted to her amazing technique and knowledge of the body. After each massage we would notice our bodies feeling better & better. I've never felt so great after a massage, it's a treatment you have to experience. You leave feeling extremely relieved. Gemma also makes her own natural body creams and oils which are used during the massage, she has different blends for different client requirements. I am now living out of the UK & I am so excited to see Gemma for a massage when I return, I haven't found anyone as good as her. I have also had the anti ageing facial with Gemma which was fantastic, she used amazing products and the facial massage was glorious. Book yourself in, you won't be disappointed!

One of the best facial I ever had. The place is very clean, very quiet; Gemma was very Professional & courtesy... Her space has a great atmosphere-Warm, cosy and Quiet with great music designed to give the best time. I highly recommend Her, My skin looks so much better after all her advises.

The therapy takes place in a great environment and I always feel energised and happy when I leave. Highly recommended, whether you are in pain or just need a check up!

Besides having a safe/amazing pair of hands, Elizabeth brings a great personality and knowledge to Haptic. With a personal and tailored approach I now feel much better in my own skin and have made Haptic part of my life style!

It a great clinic located in the "Health" district of London, where I have been seeing Dr Ari there. I had very bad headaches that I could not deal with anymore, I have approached Dr.Ari as I had a suspicion that it was related to my spine/neck alignment. Over a course of treatments and exercises that he has recommended, my headaches and overall health has drastically improved! I am a very happy customer and I will continue with my treatments to maintain the correct body alignment. Thank you

A thoroughly helpful and informative practise with great service and advice. They have helped me with lower back issues caused by years of rugby with no proper treatment. My back felt 100% very quickly and further care to maintain that healthy standard has been fantastic.

Judith Havas Homeopathy

Marchmont St, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 1AP, UK – 020 7833 3159

I was recommended Judith at a time I desperately needed some support physically and spiritually and I will always remain grateful to her. After seeing her for some EFT sessions supported by homeopathic treatment, not only have I become calmer and healthier generally, but I also finally started conquering my long-standing fears and progressing towards my dreams. She is an open minded and caring professional and I feel lucky to have received her healing wisdom. I have recommended her to my own close friends since.

I first visited Judith nearly 5 years ago with my 18 months old son, who had a persistent cough. The cough was gone after receiving homeopathic treatment from Judith. Over the years she treated my two sons for a great variety of childhood ailments from tonsillitis to ear infections. I also received treatment from her during my second pregnancy. Judith is very caring and professional. I found her treatments very helpful, she also gives very good health advice.

Vision Express Opticians

181-183 Oxford St, Soho, London W1D 2JT, UK – 020 7292 8420

I really love being a customer at Vision Express. The staff are very customer-friendly, approachable and professional. I would recommend going here if only for the digital retinal scan. Which brings me to my main gripe with this place. I've been a customer since 2010 and every time I go, I leave my email address with the staff and I'm told my scan will be sent to me. When it hasn't arrived by the agreed date, I call them and ask for it. The phone usually rings for an age before finally being answered. I then have to keep them on the phone whilst I open it to ensure I'm not fobbed off. If this didn't happen, this would probably be a 5 star review.

My mum and i were being served by Saif, he is really attentive and friendly. Spent time to search for the perfect sunglasses for you us, also carefully adjusted them to improve our comfort in wearing them. 5* service. Thank you for a pleasant experience.

Vision Express Opticians

108 Fleet St, London EC4A 2AF, UK – 020 7353 0078

My experience was a fantastic one at that, the manager tommy made me feel very welcome and made the whole experience fun, he was very polite and assisted me with my questions i had about the frames. Also i would like to say i had amazing customer service from the 2 lovely ladies Nikki and shamima who helped me pick a frame that really suited my face shape and was comfortable. Lastly i would like to say a big thank you to kalps the optom who make my eye test very comforting and easy he helped my with questions i had with what was going on with my eyes. So over all an amazing experience and will definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to get glasses.

Tommy the Manager was brilliant about finding replacement frames for me.. Thanks so much

Specsavers Opticians London - Strand

114 Strand, London WC2R 0AG, UK – 020 3077 4950

Everyone is super friendly in this store! If you have any questions they are more than happy to answer. Agnes was a great help, I couldn't find a pair of glasses I liked and within 30 seconds she had found me some! The eye test was very quick and done by a very insightful optician! Thank you guys, keep up the great work and I will pick up my glasses next week :)

Well the much awaited revamp has happened. It hasn't obviously increased stock capacity but the layout seems much improved. The displays are clearly priced from £25 upwards to £165, frame plus different types of lenses too and the lighting above the racks is kinder on the eye and the complexion ! There's a tablet desk near the entrance so you can check out the website to order in a colour choice or use the ' how would l look in these frames' facility. For those of us who are very myopic this is invaluable. You no longer have to ask strangers in store what they think or press yourself up to the mirror and squint at your reflection. Staff won't let you select an unsuitable frame for your prescription or an unflattering one. The aftercare is brilliant too. No matter what kind of clutzy things you subject your new glasses to, they're ready willing and able to put them to rights, which makes the initial heavy financial outlay on new specs feel less painful. Never be frightened either to delay your choice by writing down style reference numbers you like, then checking them on line later to help you decide. Don't buy under pressure. Ask about donating your old frames to a charity too.The cleaning and adjustment machine is now just beside the till so getting a quick spruce really easy.

48 Charlotte St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 2NS, UK – 020 7099 7730

I have attended osteopathy sessions with Poonam Shah for well over 4 months. I have been seeing osteopaths for a number of years and I can attest to her professionalism and quality as a practitioner. She is knowledgeable (which is no surprise considering she lectures in the subject), and respectful of patients. Her awareness of novel and appropriate treatments as well the scientific approach she takes add to my comfort as her patient - not to mentioned how great I've been feeling the past few months. 5 stars.

I have been for 3 sessions with Poonam and she has been so great. She was very quick to identify where the root cause of my back pain was and used three different techniques (massage, acupuncture and ultrasound) to target problem. She has also suggested at home physio moves for me to do to help in between sessions. I have recommended her to two friends already and will continue to use her myself. A really great osteopath and also just really lovely!

Central London Osteopathy & Sports Clinic

325-327 Old St, London EC1V 9LE, UK – 020 7739 5666

Outstanding clinic. I have been seeing Torben and Stephanie for 18+ months. Their combined expertise helped me overcome a long-term back/hip issue, and uncovered the source of the problem almost immediately after more than 10 years of seeking treatment elsewhere. On-going treatment with Stephanie has been an absolute game-changer, and has allowed me to get back into weight training pain free. Can not recommend highly enough!

I’d highly recommend remedial sports massage with Stephanie. I’m a gym instructor, my body is constantly pushed to its limits and Steph’s treatments are just what I need to keep my body performing at its best. Her palpation skills, and amount of pressure are spot on, and I always leave the clinic feeling better. Would highly recommend.

Lizzie Hewitt has treated me twice for painfully stiff and tense muscles in my back and neck. She has worked firmly but sensitively, checking frequently that the deep tissue manipulation wasn't getting too painful. She has been clear in her analysis of the likely causes of the muscle spasm and recommended Pilates exercises to help reduce or avoid recurrence of my problems. Lizzie has a delightful manner and I have been very pleased with the results.

Great services, very friendly and helpful staff. I managed to get appointments very quickly for deep tissue massage. after a few sessions only, they got rid of quite a few nasty knots in my back!

Six Physio Leadenhall

37-39 Lime St, London EC3M 7AY, UK – 020 7929 4007

Kelly is the best Physio I've ever had. I've been seeing her for over a year now with a complex Achilles' tendon problem. She's passionate about what she does, will push you hard but get you results which is the point. The facilities in the studio are good and I've also done some rehab work with Renee who is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I've recommended Six in Leadenhall St to friends & will continue to do so.

I've had a recurring shin problems for years and just gave up with exercise all together. It was only when I decided I wanted to run again that I found Six Physio. I started seeing Jon and Emily regularly and they were excellent. They explained my problem and went through all the exercises that I needed to do to get better as well as treating the pain! This is great physio and I would recommend to anyone with any issue - and not to be embarrassed about their level of fitness! 2 of my friends have already started using them and have also had great experiences.

Dr. Tom Stevens (Consultant Psychiatrist), Christiane and Elise (Administrators) are such kind, helpful and professional individuals to work with. Christiane and Elise always answer the phone as if it makes their day that a patient has called them - extremely easy, quick and pleasant to book and amend appointments as well to ask questions pertaining to care. In addition to his medical and technical knowledge, Dr. Stevens is incredibly gracious and empathetic to patients/clients. He genuinely cares about his patients and loves what he does - and it easily shows. Very grateful for each of these individuals and would recommend them highly.

Warm and friendly staff. It was scary to open up and come into therapy at first but it was so easy, comfortable and non-judgmental here. Thank you!

I worked with Robert last year during a turning point in my life - he helped me look at things from a new perspective, have trust in what I believed already, and gave me tools that I could apply to my life. After several sessions with Robert I ended up leaving my job that was making me unhappy, and fixing some of the broken relationships in my life. I feel I made a lot of progress in the sessions I had with Robert, truly life changing.

Reflexology around Islington

Step in Reflexology

8 Rupert Ct, London W1D 6DY, UK – 020 7434 3228

I’ve been coming here for a decade. All these negative reviewers need to get a grip, it’s £45 for a fantastic massage in central London, don’t expect a posh hotel spa with aromatherapy. This place is clean, the staff are great, the prices are cheap, the waits are short and no booking needed. £45 (+ a well deserved £5 tip every time) and after an hour you leave feeling refreshed. I get 15 mins back downstairs and then 45 minutes feet upstairs, great combo. The wooden sticks they sometimes use are proper reflexology massagers to get to the pressure points.

Great safe massage feet and body. Trusted staff. Excellent prices. Simple place, no frills but best in soho by far.

Once again a wonderful experience doing my reflexology. The gentleman was very good as always. Cant wait for my next session.

I had my treatment last Saturday afternoon here, at 3.15-4.30pm. I was let in to a nice warm room and greeted by a smiling therapist. During my treatment, which I was really enjoying, suddenly there was a hard knocking at the door. I opened my eyes and saw that the therapist didn’t want to stop working and ignored the door knocking. I saw the time, it was 4pm only. I closed my eyes again to enjoy my session again. After a few seconds, there was another set of hard nervous knocking at the door which lasted till the end of my treatment, till about 4.10pm. I dressed up and thanked for my treatment which I really found very relaxing till that hard knocking at the door. Upon leaving the room, I saw a black African woman at the door looking inside the room. I made my way downstairs to the bathroom, and accidentally stoped as I heard the conversation of the therapist and the black girl who did start to knock at the door at 4pm. The therapist asked her to come back at her appointment time and said that her knocking disturbed the previous client treatment - mine. The black woman shouted “ you want me to come back in 20mins?????!!!!! “ “ I am the customer and I want my treatment now!!! “. I felt sorry for the therapist. After my way out of the bathroom, the black woman was gone, and I managed to speak to the therapist. The therapist said that, the black woman was not even booked in real for this day, as she checked the rota and she could not find her name. After all this what I saw, I really felt sorry for people who have to tolerate such rude behaviour!!!
